Stun the world with a
radiant skin
High humidity can cause eruptive skin problems, and it can end up looking
very
dull. More so, if the skin is oily. Sweat and oil secretions are deposited on
the skin, making it look dull and this attracts dirt and pollutants from the
atmosphere more easily. This is the reason why eruptive conditions like
rashes, spots and pimples are common during the monsoons.
A few tips…
Cleansing is of utmost
importance to the skin, so that the grime and pollutants are removed
efficiently.
Removal of make-up every day is
also essential, as cosmetics can clog the pores and lead to eruptions.
For oily skins, a medicated
cleanser, cleansing lotion or cleansing milk may be used.
Exfoliation of
the skin is very important. This not only helps to keep the pores free of
hardened oil, but also clears the skin of dead cells.
The use of
facial scrubs or cleansing grains helps to deep cleanse the skin and make it
more translucent. The skin begins to look brighter. After washing or cleansing
the skin, rub the skin gently with facial scrub. Or, use cleansing mixed with a
rose-based skin tonic using a circular motion. Then, rinse off with plenty of
plain water. It is important to rinse well with water in order to get rid of all
residues and sweat deposits.
A good skin
tonic helps to get the glow back to the skin. After cleansing, use a flower
based skin tonic, containing rose or lavender. This helps to refresh the skin
and impart a clean and fresh feeling. Skin toning helps to tighten the pores and
prevent spots and pimples. After cleansing, wipe the skin with a cotton wool pad
dipped in skin tonic. The skin should also be patted briskly with the skin
tonic, using cotton wool pads. You can keep a small bowl of skin tonic in the
refrigerator. This way, it is chilled and ready for use. Wipe the skin several
times a day with the chilled skin tonic. It can be most refreshing.
Prevention is better than cure
Humid conditions can cause skin sensitivity in some cases. This can show up in
the form of rashes. If this happens, discontinue the use of grains and scrubs.
Instead, use a medicated mask to soothe the condition. Clove medicated masks are
ideal. They also help to decrease surface grease and protect the skin from
pimples and acne. Naturally, oily products, like heavy nourishing creams, should
not be used if the skin is oily. In some cases, even oily skins experience some
surface dryness after the monsoons. If so, use a light, liquid moisturizer.
